Women, am I right? Women are very important to our society and we would not be able to survive without them. They keep others grounded and are willing to do things others wouldn’t. There are many things that women do to prove their worth to this country, so why don’t we all see them as completely equal to men in this point in time? Well, it is probably because men are physically superior in most ways, but that is not an excuse to treat women any differently. Women do have equal rights in most cases, but not all cases and that has to be changed.
Women have a vast history of being disrespected. From being yelled at and called out by perverts while just walking down the street to being in an abusive relationship they can’t get out of because they are scared to break up with them. If I had to describe women in this country with three words I would use: Disrespected, sensitive, and strong. An experience that I have had that could be similar to women being disrespected just because they are women is when I was in the car with two seniors and a junior and they were playing awful music and so I told them to give me the aux I am going to play some slappers, and then they wouldn’t give it to me because I am a freshman.
All women are different from each other. There is a very large variety of women out there these women have all different personality traits, bodies, backgrounds etc. With women still trying to get to the top, they are facing more challenges than men in the workplace. It is these issues that are preventing many women from achieving their goal of becoming a leader at their company and crushing their ability to get ahead in business. Though women are beginning to rise through the ranks at their company, they are still not being seen as equal to men in the corporate world.
Women get underestimated in school, athletics, and the workplace. Women are powerful human beings who are being looked down upon by their male superiors even when the women may deserve the position more than the male that is in the position. But as a male, I know it is very difficult to understand the struggles a women go through. People who identify with this group were born into it and the stereotypes that they are faced with could be considered degrading and disrespectful. These stereotypes are made and talked about by men because they don’t have experience to know what it would be like to be stereotypes in a very negative way.
As a community all we can do for women is just treat them with respect and treat them equally. Women are really not asking for much here so it is our job as a society to make them feel equal and not less than men. We really wouldn’t be able to function as a society without women so we have to start appreciating them more.
