The social group collection that I chose is LGBTQ. I chose this social group because I feel like this is not only a easy one to talk about but also in my opinion has the most to talk about. I want to learn about this social group because I want to learn, and talk, and help others and tell them it’s okay to be gay or Transgender.

The stories that I’ve read about this social group show experiences such as Apple CEO announces he's gay; says it does not defend his job. These experiences show how some people can be gay. Other words or ways that the individuals in this social group might use to describe themselves that are they actually gay. The experiences that I share with individuals in this social group is that how can you tell that someone is gay or maybe transgender. This experience is similar to my experience because it’s basically the same thing that i'm doing for my thing.

The individuals in this social group are different from one another because this is a different thing from others. An example of this is that it has a more unique thing since it’s more on transgender and gay. Successes that the group has faced has been same-sex marriage being legalized in 2015. Challenges that the group has faced is that people would make fun of others by calling them gay even if they are gay. Certain perspectives that are missing from this collection are telling us about what is and why people are wanting to be gay.

The challenges that individuals in this group face that other people outside the group might not understand that people can be gay if they want and it does not matter if someone says that’s weird, or stupid it’s your decision. I think that others can do the following to understand this social group: By learning from them you can be gay and you should be nice to those who are gay. Assumptions that people might make about people who identify within this social group could be that being gay is your decision. Stereotypes can negatively affect individuals who identify within this group because the discipline and bravery of our gay and lesbian service men and women. Stereotyping is wrong because they would always think that being gay is not right.

Communities can give advice to others that are not in the group but tell them that it’ okay to be gay and transgender to help individuals within this social group. This will help the social group because it makes it a lot easier to grow and make everyone around the world understand more. What I can do in particular to help this social group is tell others to respect to the people that are gay or transgender and to make it be like it’s anything normal.
