The social group I chose was disability because I can understand what there going though because I have ADHD (Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and Autism at the sametime so I may have experienced what they have experience and learn more about the struggles that others are going though. There’s others with disabilities that are worse than mine some can’t even walk again and need prosthetics that are very expensive to get some are up to 50k! So I want to learn more about people with disabilities so then I could figure out a way to help them in there times of need.
The stories that I’ve read about people with disabilities show experiences such as a six years old that could barely do any activates because they lost a limb. In the article, a wrestler that had no legs and yet has a 37-0 in his wrestling career and in another article a college footballer sitting next to a kid with autism that was eating lunch alone. These experiences shows that it doesn’t matter what physical type you are the disabilities you have if you have the guts, willpower, perseverance, determination, and hope then you can do anything that people say you can’t do!
That they treat them with respect and kindness
Don’t make fun of them for their disadvantages
Stand up for them in there time of need
Think about what their going through before you say something mean about them
Be helpful to them
Listen to them when they talk to you
Be supportive to their goals and what they want to achieve
And always be their friend when they need it
Assumptions that people make of people with disabilities could be that they won’t have a future, there life is over, they won't make it through school, etc. But I of course think there wrong you should judge a book by it’s cover there’s still pages to read about them there history, there willpower, there determination, there smartness and their actions not by what they look like don’t underestimate other people. Communities can donate and give more education to them give them some options to think about so it can help people with disabilities this will help people with disabilities so then they can have the education they need for the future and so they can have better lives with there family and friends.
