Individuals with Disabilities

For my final writing i’m doing Individuals with disabilities, i’m doing Individuals with disabilities because it’s something that should be noticed. I want to learn about this social group because I want to know what they have to go through and I want to read about it and make notice of these children with disabilities and prove to people that they are one of us and we are all the same and able to do the same things.
The stories that I’ve read about this social group show experiences such as kids not being able to walk or kids not being able to play with their  friends because of the disabilities they have but of course it’s fixed by something that impacts there life a lot. These experiences show how anything is possible and anything can happen if you believe in yourself and in others. Other words or ways that the individuals in this social group might use to describe themselves are that they aren’t good enough or they can do this or do that because they don’t fit in but in reality they do fit, they can do what everyone else does. The experiences that I share with individuals in this social group is that I do talk to people with disabilities I play with them so they know they fit in, so they know they can do what any regular person does.
The individuals in this social group are different from one another because they can’t do certain things from the start but eventually someone does something to fix it and they have the ability to do anything. An example of this is this one 6-year-old kid didn’t have an arm he couldn’t play with his friends and have fun until someone came up with the idea to create a 3D prosthetic that gives children the ability to do whatever they want to do without it breaking and having to buy a new one for $5,000 . Successes that the group has faced has been children being able to do what they want that they never thought they would do. Challenges that the group has faced is not being able to do what they want to or struggling to do something.

The challenges that individuals in this group face that other people outside the group might not understand are that when they say they can’t do something they really can’t. I think that others can do the following to understand this social group by knowing what someone with disabilities looks like. Assumptions that people might make about people who identify within this social group could be very rude or either very nice. Stereotypes can negatively affect individuals who identify within this group because it can bring them down and think bad of themselves. Stereotyping is wrong because you don’t know what they go through or what it’s like to be in their position.
