Immigrants

The social group collection that I chose is Mexican Immigrants. I chose this social group because I’ve been knowing a lot about Mexican immigrants since I was young so I think this would be the easiest thing to write about since I already know about it. I want to learn about this social group because I would like to learn more about all the Mexican immigrants that leave their country because they want to live a better life in the US.

The stories that I’ve read about this social group show experiences such as people leaving their home country in order to give their baby a better life. These experiences show how families will do anything to ensure their child has a better life. Other words or ways that the individuals in this social group might use to describe themselves are Immigrants. The experiences that I share with individuals in this social group is I never had to do the same thing like move away from mexico. This experience is different than my experience because I never had to come to the US like the people in this social group.

TIME

The individuals in this social group are different from one another because some people might really want a better life or maybe wants to come for other reasons. Successes that the group has faced has been being able to make it to the US and having a good life there. Challenges that the group has faced is like getting caught trying to go to the US and the border patrols deporting them back to their country that they were trying to leave.

The challenges that individuals in this group face that other people outside the group might not understand are that Mexican immigrants try to come to the US because there country might be dangerous or they might be poor in their country so immigrants want to come to the US to live a better life. I think that others can do the following to understand this social group:by maybe researching about the struggle that Mexican immigrant face. Assumptions that people might make about people who identify within this social group could be that they might say like they are only coming to sell drugs or do bad things. Stereotypes can negatively affect individuals who identify within this group because you don’t know what the person is going through and it can really offend somebody. Stereotyping is wrong because you can never  judge a person by the way they look.

Communities can maybe help out the immigrants when they need the help like maybe communities can bring them food or clothes to help individuals within this social group. This will help the social group because it can make it easier for the immigrants when they are struggling. What I can do in particular to help this social group is help them out if when they need something.
