Immigrants

The social group collection that I chose is immigrants, and how they come to the U.S. just hoping to be able to provide a better future and a better education for themselfs and their families. I chose this social group because I know many people who are immigrants and I know about this social group because my parents are those immigrants.I want to learn more about this social group because I wanna see how other people see this social group and their thought on it.

The stories that I’ve read about this social group show that the only things immigrants want is a better future and better education for their families. In the article Living in a homeland she barely knows after returning to Mexico is a 17 year old girl living in the Unnited States illegally, that wanted to go to college but knew that that wasn’t an ooption seeing as she had no papers. These experiences show that there are immigrants only wanting to get an education but can’t either because of the lack of oppurtunity or lack of papers. The experiences that I share with individuals in this social group is different because my brrother and cousin are here illegaly but they have DACA which allows them to get the education that they can.

The individuals in this social group are different from one another because they are all immigrants but struggle with different things. An example of this is immigrant parents making their U.S. citizen childern choice between ggoin back with them if they get deported or whenter they should stay and get and educatio. For example in the article California teen leads legal efforts to allow immigrants to remain in U.S Crista’s mom was got by immigration and is very likley to face deportaton has two options. One is to grow up in the United States without her mom and the second one is for her to go back to El Slavador with her mom.

The challenges that individuals in this group face that other people outside the group might not understand are the lack of education everywhere else. I think that others can do the following to understand this social group: actually investagate peoples situations before assuming.
