Immigrants

The social group collection that I chose is immigrants. I chose this social group because I want to know more about immigrants and how it feels to be like one. I want to learn about this social group because in the picture they took it looks very scary and it seems like your always trying to hide.

The stories that I’ve read about this social group show experiences that are scary. These experiences show how that people are basically losing their lives. Other words or ways that the individuals in this social group might use to describe themselves are fearful and hopeless. I have no experience related to this social group but it makes me want to learn more about it and know how it feels to be an immigrant.

The individuals in this social group are different from one another because they go through way more hard and tough life trying to get to America or trying to get a new job. An example of this is say you are trying to get a better paying job in America but they won’t let you cross the border and you are stuck with no family and a terrible hard working job and get paid a little amount. Successes that the group has faced has been working jobs throughout the U.S. Challenges that the group has faced is they can work but they don’t get paid enough.

The challenges that individuals in this group face that other people outside the group might not understand are having so much fear and always on the run. I think that others can rechearch there facts before saying things that aren't true about immigrants. Assumptions that people might make about people who identify within this social group could be why don’t they just stay on their side? Why do they want to come over here?. Stereotypes can negatively affect individuals who identify within this group because they could break down and not want to live because of the bad area they live in. Stereotyping is wrong because they might be false and telling a lie just to make that person feel bad.

Communities can want to help individuals within this social group. This will help the social group because maybe people can change their minds about immigrants. What I can do in particular to help this social group is go out and tell people right .
