Immigrants

The social group i’m researching on is immigrants. I think that it’s interesting that people migrate to other places to have a better life and try to achieve things for themselves to succeed. I choose this social group because I wanted to learn more about why people come to places where people don’t want them and how far they succeed.    

According to history.com immigrants in the 1900s didn’t need visa cards or passports to cross. Back then and now have similar reasons on why people came to the US for. In the 1900s people came with their families to have better crops. Also people in 1907 took ships to get to the place they wanted and they just needed a script with their information. The reasons people come now are because they want to have a successful life for themselves and/or their families.   

The difference the people in the 1900s from now is that most of the people who were migrating back then were European or Italian. Now people seem to say that it’s

people from Mexico who are mostly trying to cross over to the US. The challenges people faced in the 1900s were that they had to wait for there script to be read and sometimes they would take a couple days, weeks, or maybe take up a year. The challenges people face now is thats its a law that they can’t cross the border without papers.
