Immigration may be considered a crisis to some people Some people may blame Mexicans. Some people have no problem with immigration. Regardless of your opinion, everybody should consider the fact that the USA is a country of immigrants. People should do more research and not listen to the stereotypes about immigrants.

Immigrants come from all parts of the world, not just Mexico. Some of the most popular locations for immigrants to come from are, Philippines, India, Vietnam, China, Guatemala, and El Salvador. Immigrants are often stereotyped by the media n a negative way. People assume that immigrants come, cause havoc and crime. This may be true for some immigrants, but most come to the US to recieve an education and do odd jobs to earn money like a regular person. People assume that immigrants use taxpayer money to get free healthcare, but according to KHN’s article Immigrants’ Health Premiums Far Exceed What Plans Pay For Their Care during the years 2000-2011, immigrants contributed $35.1 Billion more to Medicare services than they used in services. This proves the stereotypes wrong that immigrants are negative for taxpayers. .

Immigrants need a fair chance. People have a bad image of immigrants and the media just makes it worse. There are multiple organizations in the San Diego area that are working towards justice for immigrants, such as Immigration Justice Center and ALCU San Diego These organizations challenge immigration laws and stereotypes.  They work to make immigrants more accepted and challenge organizations like DACA. These organizations provide quality, low cost immigration services and also work to make better, more safe immigrant detention centers.

In conclusion, People should do more research and not listen to the stereotypes about immigrants. Immigration is not as big of a problem as you would think. Media misrepresents immigrants every day which makes everybody think that all immigrants are bad. Also, Not all immigrants come from Mexico. There are many different countries where immigrants come from, with India being the most popular. Immigrants are somewhat beneficial for the USA, and the media misrepresents immigrants.
