Immigrants

The social group that I chose was immigrants. Stories show that Immigrants have had a very harsh past and went through a lot to get here. These people describe themselves as brave, influential, determined and much more. I don’t share much experience with these people because I have had a very easy life.
Different people have encountered many unique things in their life, so people change and are different. Immigrants, though, have gone through much more than the average joe and have more experience with security and other things. Spoiled people with easy lives were not included in this group, nor were many stupid people.
Going through up to weeks of waiting for simple transactions, being chased by their past and more like that. Really not much, except for understanding that this did hurt them and helping. Some people think that they deserve what they got and are getting still today, yet that is not the case. Like many other times, stereotypes negatively affect this group, because one person in never the same as the next, so saying one is breaking the law, doesn’t mean that they all are.
What you can do to help: If you see these people in trouble, just help them out and ask them what they have been through. And don’t ask them about their past, it doesn’t help. This is to help them through what they have encountered and cheer them up when they are down.
