The group of Latino Americans is definitely not one of the single story. Being one of the biggest ethnic groups in America, they have definitely had a big part in the melting pot. With 1 in 5 people in America identifying as Latino, their culture has grown widely across the country, and has also been an instrumental part of the history of our home.

This group ranges from Central America, all the way to the tip of South America. Throughout these countries the food, the culture and the holidays are all almost completely different. I have found many places in Mexico, within 100 miles of each other, where the whole town revolves around the fish caught during the day, and the other is solely based on the tourism aspect. It is also really easy to see how the language changes through the towns and countries although they all mostly speak Spanish. The biggest comparison I can make is how people from California speak different than people in the south, and from the east coast. We can also see the same trend with food, and types of people in the area. Another thing that I can see all over central America is how often the quality of living changes from place to place. And how greatly the climate affects the jobs and lives of the people living there.
Being Latino American means that you are an iImmigrant like most of the rest of Americans. Something that is very prominent to the U.S is the melting pot of culture and different people, and this is what makes it such a special place. One of the largest ethnic groups in America is the Hispanic Latino community, bringing lots of their own culture to us. Some of the biggest things that they bring is their language as well as their diverse foods, and diverse backgrounds. We see that the majority of these groups are living in places such as the Bronx NY, Los Angeles CA, and Miami FL. Although this group is very prominent in the U.S, it seems like there is a constant struggle for equal rights.
Latino American justice has been a big part of the U.S and what it has become today. Some of the earliest movements dating back to the early 1900s, when they fought for rights on farms, and started strikes for better pay. Also in 1965 when Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta started the United Farm Workers association, which had become the most important farm workers union in the nation at the time. To modern day, where Latino Americans struggle with deportation, and undocumented immigrants. Although this group is very essential to what American agriculture and history has become, I believe that the undocumented immigrant problem is very concerning. It is something that has become so widely spread and talked about among politics, and is something that affects our daily lives. It has also made life for some people much more difficult, and for those who have been deported, almost unbearable.

This group has been quintessential to the continent we live on, because of the culture they bring, and the resilience of the people. With out this group, the way we live our lives would be completely different, and we can only appreciate how they affect the way we live. By giving thanks, we can help them make a stand, with the struggles they face, and the problems they try to relinquish.
