Individuals with Disabilities

Have you ever wondered what social group you fall into?  Well I am going to talk about a social group today. I will be writing about Individuals with Disabilities.  In this social group it shows that it can be challenging because you might not have all the resources that most people have.  Some other challenges for people who don’t have a limb can be playing a sport. My paper is going to be about how it can be challenging to be in this social group and how some people have overcome the challenges that they have been faced with in this social group.

In the social group I am doing, Individuals with Disabilities, it shows that it can be challenging to be in this social group because you might not have all the resources that most people have but most of the people in this social group have overcome it like Hasaan Hawthorne in No legs, no problem for Alabama teenage wrestler who went 37-0 he overcame having no legs and is a great wrestler.  Another word might the individuals here use to describe themselves as confident because if you are “different” than others you will probably get made fun of.

Some people have disabilities like having no legs or arms but some people have other disabilities like autism and things like that.  Some challenges for people who don’t have a limb can be playing a sport. But in the article “No legs, no problem for Alabama teenage wrestler who went 37-0” the 18-year-old wrestler Hasaan Hawthorne has no legs but it is not a problem for him when wrestling.

There are some challenges that affect individuals in this group that others might have a hard time understanding because for example if you have a limb and someone you know doesn’t it would be hard to understand how they felt without the limb if you had it.  I think others can talk to them like how this college football player did in “College football player's lunch date with a boy with autism”.  I think that is how you can understand the challenges these individuals face.  Some assumptions that people might make about individuals who identify with this group are that they weird just because they are autistic or they don’t have a limb.  Stereotypes might negatively affect individuals who identify with this group because people might think they are weird since they are not the same as them.

In my paper I talked about how it can be challenging to be in this social group and how some people have overcome the challenges that they have been faced with in this social group.  It can be challenging to be in this social group because you might not have all the resources that most people have but most of the people in this social group have overcome it. Some challenges for people who don’t have a limb can be playing a sport.  It seems it would be hard if you have a limb and someone you know doesn’t it would be hard to understand how they felt without the limb if you had it. I hope you can understand this social group better now.
