American Muslims

The group I’m doing is American Muslims. They have always dealt with negative stereotyping after 9/11. It only got worse. People will always find a way to give them the short end of the stick. I choose this group because I wanted to get their point of view on things. I want to understand what goes through their heads, how they feel, and their struggles.
These people struggle with identity so much. They struggle with trying to stay true to themselves while having to deal with the struggles of anti-Muslim threats plus the struggles of life. They are still people with just different beliefs and they do things to represent that and yet they get made fun of for it. Just as a christian would wear a cross a muslim wears a head scarf or a hijab. This article is explaining how ____.
The challenges these people go through are so simple yet they hurt so much. They go through being yelled at for going to the store to go back to where they came from when in reality they are from right where they are. They get stereotyped just because some bad people that look exactly like they do decided to do something stupid. These little things could drive someone mad.
American Muslims never get attention that’s good since they are always viewed as terrorists. They just want to be treated normally. Some things we could do to make them feel like a part of our community is giving them an emoji. When you use an emoji and you can make it look like you, you feel good and like you matter. Muslims are one of the communities that don’t have an emoji and it makes them feel worthless and like they don’t matter. Little ways we can make them feel like they belong is just by treating them like they belong and letting them know they matter.
